TrialKit, Native App for EDC and ePRO, to be Available for Android Devices in September

Fully-featured eClinical app, TrialKit, will soon be released on Google Play by Crucial Data Solutions, making clinical data collection and management possible on the majority of smartphones available today.

RENO/TAHOE, NEV. (PRWEB) AUGUST 22, 2018

Crucial Data Solutions, Inc. announces the release of TrialKit™ for Android on September 1st, making it the first fully-featured app for electronic data capture (EDC) and electronic participant reported outcomes (ePRO) on both iOS and Android devices. Combined, iOS and Android constitute 99 percent of the market share for mobile devices worldwide; in turn, this enables more users than ever to contribute to clinical research. TrialKit’s native mobile app gives investigators and clinicians the unprecedented ability to build and manage regulatory compliant (FDA 21 CFR Part 11) research studies entirely on mobile devices. Within the same app, study participants can also complete surveys on forms assigned to them in a clinical trial. TrialKit makes data collection and management in clinical trials more accessible and efficient in a number of ways:

Ease of Use

The TrialKit app was developed to be intuitive and easy to learn. The user experience is centered around familiar gestures on mobile devices, so conducting a clinical trial is now as simple as navigating through any other app users may be accustomed to accessing on a daily basis. “The interactivity and ease of use of TrialKit are by far the industry’s best,” said Dek Mauleon, CTO at Crucial Data Solutions. “That is because we developed them in their native environments of Xcode® and Android Studio.”

Real-Time Access to Data

By leveraging the latest technology of mobile operating systems for TrialKit, Crucial Data Solutions has made real-time data access possible for research teams. Data entered into the system can be viewed and managed immediately upon entry. More than one user can interact with a study in TrialKit; in fact, there’s no limit to the number of researchers who can sign in and view the data simultaneously. Real-time access to data will help shorten study durations and even aid research teams in responding to AEs and SAEs quicker than ever.

Real-World Data

In addition to collecting data from surveys and CRFs, TrialKit’s app is also capable of gathering real-world evidence. Innovative mobile technologies are put into action to generate data from activities such as range of motion, step motion, and heart rate. Real-world data will soon be collectable from a wide variety of wearables, allowing research teams to collect a greater quantity of objective, accurate data in the clinical trial process. TrialKit can also tap into geolocation (GPS) for stamping coordinates on electronic CRFs and the device’s microphone for dictating data on both iOS and Android devices.

Improved Participant Engagement

ePRO can be activated with a single tap when configuring a study in TrialKit, and researchers can begin collecting outcomes directly from participants. Beyond the standard data gathered on CRFs, participants can also snap photos or videos, or slide analog scales directly on a survey or questionnaire. ePRO enables research teams to communicate more effectively with participants via flexibility to deploy notifications throughout the life of the study. Additionally, consistent communication with participants on their mobile devices allows for a minimized amount of site visits and thus greater convenience for study participants as a whole.

TrialKit does not require any programming or coding expertise – simply download the app and begin managing studies immediately. The TrialKit app can be found on the App Store® today and Google Play on September 1st.
