ePRO Now Available on Android Devices via TrialKit

We’ve seen the heavy adoption of electronic participant reported outcome (ePRO) and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) on the horizon for clinical trials for quite some time. More and more research professionals are realizing ePRO’s meaningful benefits and ability to improve clinical outcomes. That’s why we took steps in 2017 to further enhance our ePRO technology and ensure its availability on 99 percent of mobile devices in use today. TrialKit’s ePRO functionality, previously available only for Apple devices, is now live on Google Play. TrialKit, a native mobile app, is free to download from Google Play, so it’s now able to run on the vast majority (an overwhelming 81.7 percent) of smartphones worldwide.

TrialKit ePRO empowers researchers to gather cleaner and more objective sets of data, alleviating the need for on-site visits in many cases –  slashing transcription errors in the process. And, because the data entered and saved on the forms by study participants flows through the system in real-time, researchers can manage the data more efficiently, eliminating the burdensome process of data cleansing paper-based forms.  Researchers are also notified in real-time when participants report on specific events, allowing for more rapid and effective resolution or reporting.

Study participants can download the app and share in their treatment by filling out forms, which is as simple to do as posting a Facebook update or responding to an email. TrialKit ePRO reminds participants – via push notifications and email – when it’s time to complete a survey. The ability to complete eCRFs virtually anytime and anyplace makes it more convenient for participants to be actively involved in the trial, helping to keep engagement and retention rates high.

Implementing ePRO in clinical trials can save research teams valuable time and money typically spent on managing paper-based participant reported outcomes.
